Description:This course takes you on an anti-bias learning journey which you will find is a lifelong process. For some, this will be the beginning, filled with new language, unfamiliar ideas and, at times, uncomfortable revelations. For others, this will be an extension of your learning and an opportunity to deepen your exploration of bias, more sharply focus your anti-bias lens and develop new strategies. Breaking Down Bias is a timely, cooperative learning experience led by two ADL trained facilitators that empowers you to be a change agent in your classroom and school community.

When:The course takes place over four weeks starting Thursday, June15, a break for July 4 week, and ending Wednesday, July 19, 2023. New modules begin weekly on a Thursday and end on the following Wednesday. |

Time commitment: 15-20 hours total (estimate)3-4 hours over the course of each week of asynchronous (self-paced) learning. (Includes: readings, videos, activities, journals, and posting and responding on discussion boards) Two (1-hour) live webinars. Participation is highly encourages but the recording will be made available for those that have conflicts. Exploring resources and additional readings (optional). Note: We strongly encourage you to be sure you can commit to the time requirements before you register and take a spot. Pacing:There is a new session each week. The course is self-paced, asynchronous with facilitated online discussions. There are two scheduled synchronous live learning sessions in Zoom. |

Certificate Requirements:A certificate of 20 professional learning hours will be given upon successful completion of course assignments and a course evaluation. |
